Booking & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 2026

A note from your web team: this page is an editable template. The exact deposit percentage, cancellation windows and refund terms are yours to set (the bracketed suggestions below are common for private chef services). Confirm your final terms before launch, and state them in each client's booking confirmation.

How booking works

  • 1. Inquire. Send the booking form, call or email with your date, guest count and occasion.
  • 2. Talk. Elliott replies within 24 hours to schedule a free 15-minute menu conversation. No commitment.
  • 3. Reserve. A deposit secures your date. Because Elliott cooks one event at a time, dates are confirmed in the order deposits arrive.
  • 4. Compose. Your menu is finalized about a week before the event, built around that week's harvest and your table's preferences.
  • 5. Dine. Elliott sources, cooks, serves and cleans the kitchen. Dessert arrives with the cello.

Deposits

A deposit [commonly 25 to 50 percent of the quoted total] secures your date, with the balance due [on the day of the event or within X days after]. The exact amount and payment method are confirmed in writing when you book.

Cancellations and rescheduling

Life happens, and one-chef scheduling means a cancelled date is hard to refill on short notice. As a general framework:

  • Cancellations made [more than 14 days] before the event: deposit refunded or credited to a new date.
  • Cancellations within [14 days]: deposit is retained, but Elliott will always try to rebook your date and refund what he can.
  • One free reschedule is available with [at least 7 days'] notice, subject to availability.

Exact terms for your event are confirmed at booking and included in your written confirmation.

Guest count and menu changes

Final guest count is due [7 days] before the event. Small changes after that are usually manageable; significant increases may adjust the quote, since sourcing is done per head.

Dietary needs and allergies

Dietary accommodations are planned during the menu conversation. Severe allergies must be discussed directly with Elliott before booking so sourcing and kitchen workflow can be planned safely. Elliott cooks in your home kitchen, which he does not control day to day, so a completely allergen-free environment cannot be guaranteed.

What Elliott provides, and what you provide

Elliott brings ingredients and cookware, and leaves your kitchen clean. You provide a working kitchen (a standard range and oven is plenty), the dining table and place settings. Upgraded table styling can be arranged on request and quoted with your event.
